Available CEF Positions

President/Co-President:  Are you interested in taking on a larger volunteer role to learn more about the practices of a non-profit organization and how CEF works directly with school Administration to enhance and improve curriculum? This is an amazing opportunity to work alongside the Principal, faculty members, and other leadership team members to discuss the needs of staff, faculty and students and develop a strategic plan to raise funds to fulfill those needs. The President helps facilitate meetings, implement and achieve the goals of the Cougar Ed Fund, as well as manage and oversee the operations of the Board.  Also attends SRVEF affiliate meetings bi-monthly to meeting with other ed funds in our district.


Vice President:  The Vice President works closely with the President to determine the fundraising goals of Cougar Education Fund and to help plan and execute strategies to meet those goals. The Vice President adheres to the Board’s mission and helps manage the day-to-day activities of the Board. The Vice President may preside over CEF Board meetings when the President is unavailable, as well as represent Cougar Ed Fund at leadership meetings, affiliate meetings and other events. 


Secretary:  The secretary duties are to take minutes at the monthly CEF meetings.  All minutes are recording and voted on at the following CEF meeting.  As Secretary you will also be a member of the Cougar Ed Fund Board.


Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer:  Experience in accounting is a plus for the role of treasurer.  This position will keep track of the fund's financial statements and bookkeeping pertaining to documenting and communicating the state of such funds to the board at monthly meetings.  Treasure will also work directly with the school's administrative office to submit staffing payments to the district.  The Assistant Treasurer’s role is to help the Treasurer with all bookkeeping duties pertaining to the budget of the Ed Fund.


Spring Fundraiser Chairperson or Co-Chairs:  Do you love to plan parties, organize and coordinate events? Are you creative and want to think of some new and exciting fundraising ideas for John Baldwin? We would love your help! We need a Spring Fundraiser Chairperson, or a team of Co-Chairs to spearhead our school’s Spring Fundraiser. Typically, the Spring Fundraiser has been our Bid for Kids Online Auction and Live Gala Event.  New ideas are welcome and will be needed due to possible restrictions due to the COVID pandemic.  Maybe you think an all-family Game Day would be a hit, or a virtual event or something fun outdoors?? The possibilities are endless! There will be many people to help guide you along the way. The end result will be a truly rewarding experience. As Chair or Co-Chair, you will also be a member of the Cougar Ed Fund Board.


Jog-A-Thon Chairperson:  Are you passionate about exercise and healthy lifestyle habits? This school-wide, healthy fundraiser is where students walk, jog and run to raise money for programs at our school no longer supported by our school district. It’s an opportunity to show kids exercise can be fun and rewarding!  This is a two-month commitment in the fall. The Jog-A-Thon is usually held in early November, so you will start working from the end of September to the middle of November. Due to the pandemic dates may change.  This is a great opportunity to have fun with students while raising money for the school! You will also be a member of the Cougar Ed Fund Board.


Communications Chair:  Are you always checking Facebook? The Communications Chair would be responsible for using social media tools like Facebook and Twitter to communicate CEF events and progress to our John Baldwin parent community. This includes posting content, managing relationships, and moderating conversations on CEF social media pages.  The position would also include helping write CEF communication pieces, making copies for teachers to hand out and/or updating the information on the CEF webpages. This is a very flexible volunteer position!  It can be done any time of the day and the week and will be fun and fulfilling. You will also be a member of the Cougar Ed Fund Board. 


Cougar Reward Program Chair(s):  The Cougar Rewards Chairperson is responsible for publicizing and promoting programs that raise money for our school, like the eScrip program, Amazon Smile, Farm Fresh to You.  The Chairperson will also be responsible for planning and promoting Dining for Dollars events every month. These year-round fundraising programs are simple ways supporters can effortlessly contribute to Cougar Education Fund on a regular basis. You will also be a member of the Cougar Ed Fund Board.


Corporate Matching Chair(s)

Help the Cougar Ed Fund collect Corporate Matching monies from our John Baldwin parent’s employers.  Cross referencing parent employer list from registration with the available corporate matching software available to CEF from our parent organization, SRVEF.  Communication and follow-up will be required to track matching donations.  Communication as needed, to encourage corporate matching requests from our community. This is an easy and flexible job to do from home and does not require a large time commitment.
